Bed and Breakfast in Norwich

Welcome to our home and Norwich's hidden gem

Welcome to our home and Norwich's hidden gem. Recommended in the Michelin Guide 2015 for the 6th consecutive year running, Catton Old Hall B&B is a unique and historic bed and breakfast in Norwich tucked away from the hustle and bustle on the edge of the city and nestling amongst its neighbours in the northerly residential suburbs. This small, family run private boutique B&B guest house is an oasis of 17th century charm and has become legend to weary travellers from all over the world for looking after their needs and comforts.

Built as a Gentleman's House in 1632 from reclaimed Caen stone, local flint and fine oak timbers with mullioned windows, wide inglenook hearths and generously proportioned rooms, this old Mayor's home has entertained guests for centuries and is now furnished with personal family pieces and reflecting our interests and years of collecting and travels.

Each spacious, comfortable room is full of character along with meeting the needs of the modern discerning traveller. There is free off street parking with a regular city bus route nearby.

Catton Old Hall B&B offers its guests an informal 'home from home' stay in Norwich with traditional personal service with the highest attention to detail and cleanliness.

COVID 19 UPDATE

Following the recent Government update, I am very pleased to announce that we will be reopening Catton Old Hall and welcoming guests back from 4th July.

As you will except some things will have changed and your stay with us will be a little different than before the lockdown.

Nevertheless, we strive to still give you a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

I would like to reassure you that all measures have been put in place to protect our guests and staff and to help keep you safe throughout your stay.

To allow more time for cleaning we have changed our check in/out times. Check in is now from 3pm and check out is no later than 10am.

To do this and help reduce contact between staff and guests we have reviewed and amended our usual operating procedure.

To practice safe social distancing, the dining room will be closed, and breakfast will be delivered to your room. The breakfast menu has been updated and we ask that you confirm your order the evening before to avoid disappointment.

You will find the link to the new Room Service Menu below.

On booking you will receive a confirmation email outlining the new guidelines and the procedure on checking in and out, breakfast arrangements and what to expect during your stay. To help keep you safe certain items have been removed from the rooms, such as mini fridges, cushions and throws, guest welcome book and any information books and leaflets.

Hand sanitiser will be available to use, which will be in the main reception area of the hall and also on each floor.

A welcome pack will be available to view on the website (see link below) and invoices/receipts will now be paperless.

Please take the time to read through the guidelines and the welcome pack to familiarise yourselves before your stay, this will help keep you, other guests and staff as safe as possible.

I thank you in advance for your cooperation and support in this time of uncertainty.

Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions or concerns, I will be more than happy to assist you the best I can.
